Overview

Summary

The Senior Accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. The Senior Accountant should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. The Senior Accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and be an independent thinker who is comfortable working in a high-volume, fast paced environment.

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant to join our GL team as a Senior Accountant. This role will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance, and supporting financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Manage and oversee general ledger accounting
  •  Handle monthly close processes
  •  Maintain and reconcile fixed assets register and depreciation schedules
  •  Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
  •  Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  •  Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  •  Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP as required)
  •  Support audits and coordinate with external auditors
  •  Identify process improvements and implement best practices
  •  Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Review accountant work

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • 4–7+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Experience working with US-based companies or US GAAP
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring junior staff
