Overview

Summary

The Billing Specialist has the responsibility of processing timely and accurate customer invoicing of equipment, maintenance, and services. The Billing Specialist will ensure all system tools are updated to generate billing that is accurate and meets contractual requirements. The Billing Specialist will also develop, identify, and evaluate systems from end-to-end for billing and reporting.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Creates deposit invoices as required per MSA or SOW
  • Processes equipment, software, and some maintenance billing out of Great Plains by transferring fulfilled orders to an invoice and adding freight charges if applicable
  • Processes Project Management and System Implementation Services billing out of Alert.net and/or ConnectWise
  • Reviews projects for completeness and accuracy and interfacing with various departments in researching, compiling, and reconciling data to ensure accurate billing
  • Processes contract billing out of Alert.net for In-House Maintenance Contracts, Managed Services Contracts, Block/Prepaid Contracts, Avaya Commission Contracts, Avaya SSU/SA Contracts, other Co-Delivery and Wholesale Contracts
  • Develops relationships with sales and customers to produce accurate invoices per customer requirements.
  • Works independently to identify, research, and resolve billing discrepancies as well as inquiries from internal and external customers

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Two year college degree in Accounting or related field, or billing experience of at least 5 years
  • At least two years of experience in an accounting or related position
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting practices as demonstrated in prior work experience
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail (accuracy)
  • Strong teamwork skills

 

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Four year college degree in Accounting or related field
  • Prior billing experience
  • Experience in Great Plains Dynamics
