Overview

The Manager, PMO is responsible for the high-quality and timely delivery of professional services engagements and reports into the central Project Management Office (PMO). This position manages a team of project managers responsible for delivering large and complex programs consisting of projects lead by C1 as well as other vendors.  Success in this position requires openness to constant change, a focus on continuous improvement and ability to hire and retain a world-class team focused on quality control, profitability, and high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

 

  • Leads team of highly skilled project managers. Hires, reviews, compensates, manages performance issues, promotes, exits, etc.
  • Audits and enforces defined project management methodology, key performance indicators, communication and governance plan in conjunction with the C1 Project Management Office
  • Ensures process consistency across the entire project management portfolio; Supports and promotes the objectives of the C1 PMO
  • Assumes responsibility for continuous improvement upon delivery quality, operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Promotes knowledge sharing and skills development
  • Recognizes Opportunity identification and works closely with the field to communicate new opportunities identified within existing projects
  • Establishes and manages key metrics:
    • Profitability and growth
    • Specific GM$ and % target
      • Improves process efficiencies
      • Improves resource management
    • Quality
      • Owns responsibility for maintaining quality in deployments working with Program and Project management
      • Maintains consistent documentation across teams and departments
    • Customer satisfaction
      • Ensures highest level of customer satisfaction
      • Anticipates issues before they surface and tackle the problem by pulling in project managers to the discussion
      • Engages in customer escalation calls to resolve issues
      • Works with Project Managers to ensure all projects have defined, accurate, and up to date resource plans and tracks progress against plans
    • Manages, produces, and reports upon the revenue forecast for all programs within the portfolio

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in project management or related leadership roles
  • 5+ years of direct management experience
  • Passion for project management and operations
  • Proven ability to analyze, develop, document, and optimize business processes
  • Excellent demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to assign and monitor work
  • Excellent knowledge of customer service procedures and practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent ability to drive continuous improvement within the department
  • Excellent ability to drive consistency within department
  • Excellent ability to lead a team toward departmental objectives and vision
  • Ability to foster and build relationships at all levels in a large, global corporate environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • Strong written and presentations skills, with the ability to tailor information to the audience in a way that establishes rapport, influences others and gains understanding at all levels
  • Fluent in use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • PMP or equivalent certification

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma certification
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency with building and editing Microsoft SharePoint sites
